Concentrates can refer to a product that has had its water or diluent removed to become more potent, such as food products like orange juice concentrate, or a substance with a high concentration of a particular component, like certain cannabis products or mineral-rich ore. The term can also mean to focus one’s attention or energy, or a person who is focused and attentive.

Types of concentrates
    • Food concentrates:

A food is reduced in bulk by eliminating fluid, resulting in a more intense flavor and higher sugar concentration. For example, frozen orange juice is made by removing water from the juice.

  • Mineral concentrates:

Products from ore processing that are richer in minerals after an initial processing step.

  • Cannabis concentrates:

Extracts from the cannabis plant that are high in psychoactive compounds like THC or medicinal compounds like CBD. These can take the form of wax, shatter, or other forms.

  • Cleaning products:

Highly concentrated cleaning chemicals that require dilution before use, often marketed for specific purposes like removing cement or limescale.

  • Flavour concentrates:
Used in products like e-liquids and food manufacturing, these are highly concentrated flavorings that are added to a base to create a final product.
